The Best Slice at Upside Isn't a Square

The Best Slice at Upside Isn't a Square

Quick pit stop at Upside for the special mushroom slice, "The Falcowitz." This is a white slice, but it's creamier than most white slices I've had, interesting considering how thin the undercarriage is.

There's a white wine lemon cream sauce topped with the fresh mozzarella Upside has gotten attention for making, and sautéed mushrooms. Then it's finished with fresh lemon zest, chopped parsley, cracked black pepper, and Parmigiano Reggiano.

This is the kind of slice where if you're not expecting the lemon, you might be in for a bit of a head-scratcher. There's a tang. But it's kind of like anchovy in a sauce nobody told you they added... it's not so overpowering that you're necessarily 100% sure what it is.

I'd actually go back just for The Falcowitz. Might even have it over the Sicilian that I featured not long ago.
