Seeking Recommendations: What Are the Best Pizzerias in Queens?
Repeated samplings of the Freddy Prince at Paulie Gee's Slice Shop have made me realize that its inspiration, Freddy's Pizzeria in Whitestone, Queens is not among the old-school joints I've visited throughout the five boroughs. (For those not in the know, Prince Street Pizza is the other half of the inspiration behind this slice.)
If I'm going to to Freddy's, I'm going to make it worth my time and go on a self-guided Queens pizza tour. To my shame or not... I have NOT hit:
•Alfie's
•Andre's
•Carlos Pizzeria
•Gaby's
•John's
•Lucia
•Napolia Pizzeria & Restaurant
•Romeo
•Rosa 2
•Steinway Pizza
•Sunnyside
•The Original Pizza Sam
•John’s (Elmhurst)
Any of those worth seeking out immediately? Any I should be ashamed of having missed? I'm looking for more Queens recs, iconic and under-the-radar. And the urgency with which I need to seek them out.
If there are any places you don't see on the list below (which I've hit), PLEASE send them my way. Repeat, I have HIT the ones below. Looking for pies above to be vouched for and any others I haven't mentioned below.
•Amore Pizzeria
•Brother's PIzza
•Dani's House of Pizza
•Gloria Pizza
